BACKGROUND

Soundscapes and Soundbaths are collections of geophysical and musical sounds that are inspired by the environment and emanate from the landscape. They provide an immersive and interactive experience with the sonic environment.

The celtic sounds immersion is an experience for clients to come and lie down in a quiet space (classroom, yoga studio, art studio, community centre etc.) Clients lie on a mat with a blanket, pillow etc. I talk through a guided meditation to encourage relaxation and then I play a soundscape. The music has a form, structure and theme, however it is open to improvisation and can be slightly different every time.

There is a background drone played on audio to set a grounding bass layer. Then I play layers of sounds over this, including Tibetan bowls, harp, violin, gongs, chimes, hanpan and percussion.
